Jewelry - Good Luck Charms And Talismans With Magical Powers

Throughout history, jewelry has been worn as charms for luck and as talismans which supposedly hold magical power and meaning. These charms and amulets are believed to hold special powers which ward off evil spirits while, at the same time, attracting good influences and luck to the wearer. All over the world, people today wear these items of mystical jewelry in their everyday lives as symbols to protect them and bring them joy, happiness, luck and peace while also keeping them safe from danger and harm.

A lot of jewelry contains colors and symbols that are not purely used in jewelry but that stem from other beliefs and superstitions. It has always been said that finding a Four Leaf clover is a sign of luck; this symbol is found a lot in Celtic jewelry to tempt good fortune towards the wearer.

Charms and talismans are found in so many places and for so many reasons all over the world that it would be impossible to track down all of them. From rabbits feet to black cats, and from diamonds to pentagrams, we see so many differing charms though all for similar reasons. Most gemstones offer some kind of meaning or power that people wish to invoke through wearing them. Gold is a prime example of a powerful substance and is very prominent in the history of alchemy and magic. The reason that gold is used as the setting for most gemstones is the fact that it is believed to inherently contain the influence to bring out the powers in other gemstones.

Protection, love, luck, health and money are the main outlining reasons that people wear amulets and charms. To fall in love and have a more intimate sex life people will wear pearls, garnets and diamonds in order to attract Good Luck in these areas. The Ankh symbol, an ancient Egyptian symbol similar to a crucifix with a loop at the top, is said to also represent love, longevity and success.

Sapphires are thought to protect unions and friendships as well as preserve the freedom of the wearer and protect from capture and turquoise is a thought to bring luck and protect the wearer from danger due to its tendency to change color in different lights and moods.

There are many different shapes and designs that appear in many different amulets and talismans as they mean many different things to different cultures. The star is seen numerous times in different representations, the five-sided pentagram is thought to help fulfil desires and inspire inner strength, the six-sided star (the star of David) is known as a harmonic balance between triangles which helps to attain peace and strength as well as helping to gain knowledge and ideas.

As well as stars, we see moons, eyes, hands and animals in many different talismans, each one has a specific meaning which is thought to bring about some beneficial influence or to ward off evil. Many people believe these ideas to be outdated and superstitious though looking around at the jewelry being worn today we can see this is not the case, amulets, charms and talismans are still very much prevalent in today's culture.
