How do you get hair dye off of sterling silver?

Today I dyed my hair, and somehow I got a small dot of brown hair dye on my sterling Silver Ring (yes, I was wearing gloves). I managed to get some of it off, but there is still a bit of hair dye left on it. Does anyone know how to remove the hair dye without ruining my ring? Thanks!
